I work with families across north Pinellas County — Palm Harbor, Dunedin, Tarpon Springs, Ozona, Crystal Beach, East Lake, and Oldsmar. All testing is in person in Pinellas County and is completed by a Nationally Certified School Psychologist with 15+ years of experience.

Gifted testing and Pinellas County Schools

Florida's gifted rule (6A-6.03019, F.A.C.) generally requires a full-scale IQ around 130 on an individually administered test, along with a majority of gifted characteristics on a standardized checklist and demonstrated need. I document exactly what the district's gifted team needs — the final eligibility decision rests with the district's staffing committee.

For gifted testing I use the RIAS-2 ($425) or the WISC-V ($450), depending on your child's age and your goals. Many Palm Harbor and Dunedin parents start here after a teacher mentions that their child seems well ahead of the class.

When learning is the concern

If your child is bright but struggling with reading, writing, or math, a psychoeducational evaluation ($1,500) identifies whether a learning disability such as dyslexia is behind the gap — and gives the school specific data to act on.

A district evaluation can take up to 90 school days. My full process, from the first consultation to the feedback session, usually takes about 2 to 3 weeks.
